【明報專訊】美國東部受入冬以來最強暴風雪吹襲，當中美國首都華盛頓周五晚開始下暴雪，降雪量達到76厘米，打破88年前的舊紀錄，全市陷入癱瘓。當地氣象部門警告，大雪將造成「極危險」情，東岸中部多個州份宣布進入緊急狀態，多個航班取消。在當局警告要有被困5天心理準備下，大批居民趁風雪到來前紛紛搶購糧食及食水，造成混亂。 美國東岸多個州份包括印第安納、賓夕法尼亞、紐約和北卡羅來納等，周五起受到超級暴風雪吹襲，首都華盛頓是重災區，周六早上已積雪53厘米，料降雪量將達76厘米，打破當地1922年1月降雪71厘米的紀錄。當地部門已發出暴風雪警告，表示「將有大風雪，會出現『白化現象』（因大霧或大雪引起的暫時失明現象）」。

塌樓事件的確是各種城市發展問題一次整體爆發，包括在舊區「發現」了公屋政策對單身人士的長期忽視，使這種家庭在舊區大量的聚集；○四年業主及租客條例修改後剝奪了租客租住權，縱容更多私人發展商在舊區的「落釘」行為，讓舊區愈來愈只顧賣錢，漠視日常生活需要；甚至回歸前土地發展公司及現在市區重建局的出現本身就是導致問題的原因——它創造了一個假大空的合理期望，透過描述唐樓殘破的景象及宣布大規模的重建，如10年內要做250個重建項目（雖然實質只做到25個），一方面讓不少業主再無心打理出租的單位，維修意識薄弱，另一方面重建又導致士紳化的情，使租客百上加斤。事實與現時普遍的說法剛剛相反，若果市建局不存在，許多唐樓不會是如此殘破的，尤其是荃灣七街及觀塘裕民坊的例子最是明顯，都是宣布重建後拖了整整十年廿載的現象。 可惜，發展局及旗下的市建局毫不意覺「社會問題」都是他們所代表的發展模式一手釀成。他們繼續在市區覓地（給地產商），如其所言要在城市地圖上尋找貧窮的口袋（Pockets of poverty）。他們仍然認為，現時舊區的貧窮問題是他們發現，而不是由於他們而出現的空間。 究竟是什麼導致官員這種狹隘的空間思想？原因可追溯至官員一直如何理解什麼是「人」。人在他們的眼中是以業權擁有作分類的，他們每一個人都可以清晰地以牆劃分，儘管現實從來不是。舊區內只有擁有者、非擁有者及僭建物，箇中千絲萬縷的互動關係卻毫不關注，才會把城市問題看作建築問題、工程問題、及「物理上的」社會問題。 城市災難的回歸 這種只認知空間純粹為物理上的空間，無論是結構或貧富懸殊本身，注定了他們解決社會問題的失敗。由於他們只將舊樓看作物理空間而忽略其他視野，繼續讓人更憂心忡忡的，是這種狹隘的空間意識將會釀成更嚴重的城市災難。高鐵穿過大角嘴只離地面30米地層、土質惡劣的舊樓群，港鐵仍然認為是兩個互不影響的物理空間；發展局透過「九轉八」，縱容私人發展商瓜分城市舊區，對舊區結構將造成災難。 返回社會問題的討論，在發展局的操作及提出中，顯示它非要深究及反思既往發展模式的問題，而是要將這個時刻化作既往發展模式的助力，未有認清問題的本質，就說加速市區重建，這是一種近乎瘋狂的轉化。社會問題成為了這種空間理解不能解決，或者根本不是要去解決的對象，甚至是用以推動既有發展模式的衍生工具。 文 鄧永成、陳劍青

要是青春真的有那麼可愛，你那時候為什麼沒有聰明到好好珍惜它？ 人就是這麼賴皮，要等到手上已經沒有青春了，肉體也不青春了，才說青春是一種心境。那些年輕的人才不會認同你。 我從來沒有覺得青春很好，也沒有覺得老了有什麼好。花開花謝，它的爛漫，或是它的凋零，只是一個過程。
看影碟取代不了入電影院，通常人們說的道理是：Quality of pictures。對我來說，影畫質素之外，入電影院還有一個重要理由。我會稱之為：Events。即是說，生命中一些入影院（或某些特別地方）觀賞電影的經驗，可茲成為生活事件來記敘、回憶。 譬如說，一九八六年，我與一班同學仔，浩浩蕩蕩到皇都戲院看《英雄本色》，「唔好用槍指住我個頭」、「阿Sir，我冇做大佬好耐喇」，看到某些場口，全場觀眾拍掌。一九九二年，當我與基督教紐帶還未完全割斷之時，我在影藝戲院看了馬田史高西斯的《基督的最後誘惑》。後來的《情書》又另有意義，在影藝排隊入場看這電影，成了一段很多人共有的集體記憶。九十年代中，藝術中心曾經一連氣放映奇斯洛夫斯基《十誡》，前後加上少許歇息時間長達十一小時，這成了我看電影的馬拉松記錄，至今未破。看戲的版圖漸漸越出我城，有甚麼比在曼克頓看活地何倫的《曼克頓》（Manhattan）、馬田史高西斯的Mean Street、《的士司機》（Taxi Driver）更加「應景」？這幾齣電影，二○○七年，我在曼克頓的獨立藝術影院Film Forum「重看」了。同年在Bryant Park Summer Film Festival中，在公園草地上，我跟大伙兒看了一場露天放映的《北非諜映》（Casablanca）。影像記憶與事件記憶互相重疊。 Event三大元素：時、地、人。以上舉的例子，何時看，何地看，與何人看（不時是影單隻影，因為「夢是唯一的真實」，我並不以為孤單），我心中暗記。在我們這個相對來說風平浪靜的uneventful年代，痛是失戀、窮是減低「消費意欲」（就某階層而言），看一場電影，有時就夠當成個人事件般寫入日記。好簡單的一件事，就算不寫日記，我也會把每場入影院看戲的票根留著，日後重撿，至少可作存在的印記。 在家中放影碟，不僅畫面收窄、時空打亂（談不上與某電影上畫或某電影節同步），事件性也削平了，到最後獨剩下「文本」──戲就只是戲，沒有其他附帶的記憶和意義。也可以說，電影往往被「去情境化」（de-contextualize）了，電影公映時（如果曾經公映的話）的社會迴響與氛圍，都變得無關宏旨。有趣的是你可以在彈指之間，隨心所欲地作時空壓縮（尤其在現今影碟比以往更容易找到之時），譬如說，如果你喜歡（事實上我做過），你可以讓《警察故事》和《新警察故事》相差十九年的成龍，存活於同一天的液晶體屏幕之中（這也許是影像無意達成的另一種「夢」）。但我從來沒在日記寫下，何日在家中看了甚麼影碟。我與影像走著同一條路：我被壓縮成一個「純文本」的人。 所以，生活中始終不缺入電影院的時候。我們都需要一個大銀幕──不僅是physical的尺寸，更是metaphorical的──人生在世，我們需要一點larger-than-life的感覺。從光明進入漆黑，由排隊入場至看罷最後一行roller credit，至散場回家的一整套觀賞ritual，那是生活中還可以低廉價錢買到的“sacredness”。在電影的「神聖」面前，我把自己縮到最小，在預定好的片長時間之內，我把自己全然交付給眼前影像，電話不接（朋友，記著，擾人清夢是罪）、爆谷不吃（每一下爆谷聲都剪碎了聲軌，討厭極了），當然更沒權利隨便暫停。在家中，我卻成了主人，搖控器的“pause”是太容易按了，一齣電影常常淪為斷截禾蟲般被分段消化，每一次「按停」，我就好像往電影創作者身上點穴。時間在我手，觀影卻被降級了。 入影院看戲，與看家庭影碟，是以也可說是生活的雙重節奏。前者是與社會同步的、與眾共存的，後者是與社會脫序的、唯我獨尊的。凡事件必有檔期，錯過了便錯過了。正如我怎樣從影碟中翻看高達、杜魯福、阿倫雷奈等（雖然不少也在重映時看過），我也不可能真正領略五十年代末至六十年代「法國新浪潮」作為「浪潮」是一回怎樣的事。感謝影碟，我得以從「文本」中重溫經典，但我壓根兒知道，在電影作為事件的意義上，我是無法「回到過去」的。是以，每逢遇到真正好的電影，不妨把看戲當作非一般事件看待，把電影院當作一座教堂（雖然電影院越來越「迷你」，但好歹是一間chapel吧），不讓自己輕易錯過一場彌撒。相信我，日積月累，假以時日，你將有自己一部豐富的電影事件簿，到時候，電影就不僅是電影了。 說到底我們都在尋找經歷。
